The Swedish DJ released his debut record ‘True’ last year but he told Rolling Stone that he has 70 new songs in his arsenal.

Among the collaborators this time round are Coldplay mainman and Green Day star Billie Joe Armstrong.

System of a Down vocalist Serj Tankian is also in the mix alongside Wyclef Jean and Matisyahu.

Speaking about the record, Avicii said: “It’s going to be a lot more song-oriented. ‘True’ was an attempt at that, getting electronic music in a song format.”

Referring meanwhile to his friendship with Chris Martin, the Swede added: “Chris has been like a brother. He helps out with my [nutrition].”
